Search engines:
- Exalead By far one of the most
robust competitors to Google - especially in its advanced Search Features.
Makes it even easier to search by countries, by format (slide shows,
.pdf files) and other sophisticated tricks. For similar tools, see JNet's

- Rollyo Rollyo allows you create
your own personal search engines. All you have to do is pick the sites
you want to search -- for example, your favourite media or news sources
-- and they create a custom search engine for you that returns results

- Blinkx Advanced Video Search
One of the best ways to search for any kind of videos on the web, but

US military's crackdown on blogs and YouTube videos produced by armed
forces personnel in Iraq and Afghanistan, Liveleak
keeps up a steady supply of raw footage -- from military people, insurgents,

International's project uses high-resolution satellite imagery to provide
evidence of the atrocities being committed in Darfur -- "allowing
